DeadWomenWalking 2014 – The first domestic violence murder march on 23rd November

Almost 100 women joined this march to remember the women killed by known men in the UK.

We walked in twos in silence, carrying candles with the names of murdered women on – as the names of over 400 women killed since the last election were read aloud.

We walked from Grosvenor Square to Downing St in the pouring rain – it was an emotional day – the list of names was long, the ages of the women so varied.

We were fortunate to have support from Nottingham Women’s NUT group who were brilliant stewards and ensured a safe march across London. With thanks also to Sisters of Freda for support in making the route accessible and to St John Ambulance for providing first aid cover.
